I'll be running a stall with a small group of other artist mates of mine at the Newtown Festival.
We'll be selling a bunch of fun art stuff in time for xmas gifts.
We made a Facebook Event page to show off what we've got
Newtown Festival is the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre's flagship event, encapsulating the spirit of Sydney's most vibrant creative, conscientious, and inclusive community. We've always embraced our individuality, and this year we’re going all out and playfully declaring Newtown a Republic!
Newtown Festival is a microcosm of this unique nation that is Newtown. And the Festival is our Independence Day!
Cheekiness aside, the Festival has a long history and an important role to play. Since 1976, the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has presented this bumper fundraiser event in order to support the invaluable work it does with the local community. We rely on your support and generosity – the Festival is free, but we depend on your donation in collection buckets.
All funds raised by the Festival go towards providing community support services at the Centre, in particular to disadvantaged groups such as the aged, people with disabilities, people who are homeless, people with mental illness, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people on low incomes.
With 80,000 people attending annually, the Festival showcases the best local and national music, arts, entertainment, creative enterprises, learning opportunities and delicious food. Newtown Festival is an annual celebration of our community – the perfect mix of inclusivity and Independence.
